i have a vtr and i was thinking of puttin a 1.4box in her but im not sure witch 1 i should put in it ive found a good few on ebay but im thinkin of a 106 gti rally box 4 her are them ones any good or not sure

but ive been told when u put a new box in the top speed is slower that when u had the standard box but its better on pull of

the ratio is shorter on a vts one you will change gears faster so pull as you put it means the rev is higher so yes it will pull but lose top end

If you want more acceleration then a lower ratio gearbox will give you that e.g. from a xsi, 1.1, vts etc

Not very practical if you do a lot of motorway/national speed limit dual carriage way driving as I'm sitting at nearly 4,000 rpm @ 70mph with a 1.1 box when it used to be 3,000 rpm @70mph with the standard VTR box.

ahh i loved my old s1 box with atb, especially on a 184bhp engine. had to be careful on the throttle even with r888s
