ok so at the moment i have a completly standard airbox with all standard piping etc. jus wondering what is best power wise as an upgrade? dont really care about what sounds best. i was thinking about just a panel filter in standard airbox. does anyone know more about this than me? thanks guys!:y:

forced air induction such as a pipercross viper or a bmc are best imo

None of those are forced air induction. A turbo or supercharger is forced air induction. You can get ram-air type induction kits (which none of the above are) such as the Raceland and Simota induction kits.
A panel filter in the standard airbox works very well. You can also do away with any excess piping/chambers and simply run a piece of silicone or plastic pipe from your airbox to the scoop on the scuttle panel.

This isn't forced tbh. Forced inducton is S/C or Turbo although i do rate the pipercross viper. :y:

i got a green cotton panel filter, and took off resonator box and filled hole... breathes a lot better and runs cooler slightly ... you kinda notice it more when going faster,, feels slightly more responsive ...

personally i think these are wank. i just removed one of these from my vts and fitted a viper instead. the filter on them is tiny and i dont think the carbon intake has very good access for air where it sits so close to the rad / panel

It's plastic with a 'carbon look' not actual carbon.

Standard Raceland filter for the enclosed kit is quite small, just get a larger Green cotton one for it. The Raceland intake draws cold air from the same place where the standard intake was on the slam pannel.
