hiya guys settled on stripping down my spare engine and changing the internals either to low comp pistons, high comp or the stroker kit.
my question is can anyone give me a realistic figure for mpg if i was using i was to get it.
cheers mike

Depends on your exact setup really. Seen low comp boosted engines returning 25-35mpg if driven steadily, but dropping to 10-20mpg or lower when driven hard.
Hot sure on the high comp engines or stroked lumps, but I'd imagine them to be similar really

why low or high comp?
have you not decided if going NA or boost?

interesting that when spending £2000 on engine parts you'd be concerned about mpg lol
i have an economic car and i'm building a fast car. I don't mix the two ;)

Fuel economy will depend on the spec and how you drive. I could get my old 1.4 to around 5mpg come race day.

You're not trying! I have a 1.4 that will do 3mpg...

the reason I was asking about mpg is because I dot have room for another car, so i need to find a balance between fast and standard. Plus if i got through with this eventually it will get tubo'd with any luck

if you wnat a quick car then just dont even think about mpg, pointless trying to get performance and mpg imo. have 1 or the other, and if your wanting to go turbo, how can you have a choice between low or hi comp pistons?

because the turbo is gonna be years down the line, i cant afford it all now. so the conclusion is if i get the 1.8 kit my mpg is gonna go out the window right?

any engine mods like turbo / stroker kit.. will affect your MPG,,
forget MPG if you want to moddify your engine..
