help blew the engine up in the mk1 vtr help

i was driving on the dual carradge way about 30mins ago and my engine just seized up . while i was driving along just my luck in my local scrapyard there is a vtr but it is a mk2 and i have a mk1 so i was wondering if the is any thing diffrent from then like wiring loom or gearbox or i it a straight swop over many thanks ian :P

And there was me thinking that single plug and 3plugs motors would need their own loom, ecu, etc?

What age was the mk2? Early ones had the same engine as the mk1.
