I have a vtr turbo which i purchased about 2 months ago. So far i havent really used it due to moving house etc. Anyway, turbo conv was carried out by cituning, all looks neat and tidy under bonnet and am happy with conversion.
The car is no where near quick enough for me and need some advice. It is hardling running any boost which is obv a big factor to it not being quick enough for me atm. I spoke to cituning and they said i require a 5th injector and once that is done the boost can be mapped up etc so i can get results.
I have been told the engine has had a performance cam fitted but unsure of this. Due to the above, im guessing the car may be 120bhp at present? More? Less?
What are sensible bhp figures for a well tuned vtr turbo? Is it worth the extra money it is going to cost to get the performance or should i start a new project? Dont really know much about the whole turbo'd vtr engine thing with regards to bhp figures etc so any help is much appreciated...

2 psi is it mate? That will hardly give any gains what so ever
You know what is controlling the fuelling?
As for the 5th injector setup, depends how much money you wnat to spend, vould go for 5th injector with mf2 and run low but sensible boost, or run 4 larger injectors and standalone management, hoe much you looking to spend?

pred ecu and bigger injectors are they way forward mate imo. And fueling will be sorted. Then new internals and bigger boost. I dont have internals yet but still getting 180bhp on 5psi. And since then had management and remap so could be hitting 200. Need to get it back on rollers and find out.

thanks guys, can people give me an idea on costings? for the 5th injector route or the the other route? Also what gains should i expect to see? I dont want to spend loads to get it quick. The idea was that it was a tidy, genuine car which i brought for cheap fun at weekends so dont then want to pump a load of money in it. Its only done a genuine 40,000 miles so id like to think comp is very good on it.
Im a sax turb virgin so please enlighten me....

If you went standalone:
£500 for predator ecu mapped and fitted
£250 for new 330cc injectors
Fifth injector:
£75 for mf2
£150 for fifth injector setup
but lots more hidden extra's needed!!!

i think cituning quoted £800 for a 5th injector and a rr session to get fueling right...

If your 5th injector setup is setup properly and running medium ammounts of boost, no reason why you cant reach 160 + bhp,
my spec in short is wossner low comp pistons and forged rods, gt28r turbo, dp manifold and downpipe, piper 285 camshaft, s1 inlet, gmc intercooler and standalone management, 440's, hasnt been finished yet but hoping for the 250hp at the fly

could be done for a lot cheaper than that! Cituning are a bit of a rip off as far as fitting and mapping goes!

who do you reccomend for the work then? So are we saying go with the 5th injector route then? If i wanted nearer the 200bhp, what would i need to do?

i was goin to buy mine from ci tuning for 800 thats supplied fitted and maped. i managed to buy one cheap off ebay the full mf2, 5th injector and 2 bar map sensor. i called them agen for tuning after i fitted it n they couldnt give me a price they sed its £50 a hours lol.
but if you get it cheap they are piece of cake to fit. and if you get a air fuel ratio (afr) gauge you could map it yourself on the road..

if you want near 200 then you will defo be best to go injectors and ecu. its safer for your car. if you go 5th injector u will prob have to keep adding little bits to try get tht bit more power. as i have no been advised a sig con chip.
honestly mate, i am just waitin to get my afr gauge so i can set up my mf2 n 5th injector but i no im not going to get the power i want. i am now looking into injectors and geting this pred ecu when its ready.

Hi mate you should be running 6 psi with that kit. Check for a boost leek, holes in silicone hose ect. Your TURBO will be a garret GT 17 as well.
