Hi all
i know you probly get this a lot but i have looked and i cant find any answers. sooo i have a couple of question..........;)

first one being ..
what is the fastest vts out there?

second question is
starting from the cheapest whats the best mods you can do to a vts? list all the way up to a turbo and what gains can i expect to get from it.?

bit of background info...
the only reason i ask is next year, providing i still have my job, i am thinking of buying a vts and puting it on my drive for a bit, as a project car to see what i can do to it. it is somthing i have always wanted to do and now i sorta have the money to do it. my mate is buying a pug 106 gti,and obviously i have got to get the better car and make it quicker so please dont let me down i can't have a 106 gti beating me:boxing:.
i am looking to spend quite a bit on it in the long run so any suggestion from the best oil to use to throttle bodies is welcome. also i would like to be warned of any problems so i can make sure im not buying a dog.:afro:

what i am thinking of doing to it at the moment:
buy it obvoiusly
stip seats ot and put in roll cage and buckets.
full service
change carbs for performance ones
put throttle bodies and carbs on it.
port and polish it
increase air intake.
uprate spark plugs and ignition leads
de-cat
change the manifold
possibly lightend fly wheel
possibly a sequential gear box
then re-map on rollingroad to eradicate flat spots.

any more suggestions? and any idea if i where to do this what bhp and torque i would be runing?

Saxo VTS and 106 GTI are same car really. All VTS are much of a muchness.

Mods vary so greatly you could never list them all.

No Saxos VTS came with carbs

There isnt a " Fastest VTS " There all the same standard.

If you mean a modified VTS, then what type of fast? Round corners? Straight line? Most BHP?

Handling and chassis mods won't give you more poer but that will allow you to hit the twisties harder.

So to your list you need to add Strut Braces, quality suspension set-up (Look at the Bilstein sets on Kam Racing), Poly Bushes, Bigger/Uprated brakes (206, 306 gti6 or 4 pots), Performance Tyres.

Also if you want to run bodies you will need to cam it first (Newman PH3's respond well to this) and a standalone ECU if you want to get the mapping spot on as you can adjust everything to get it perfect.

Best for you to work out a budget and then pick the mods which will give you the best return for the least outlay.

Then hope your friend isn't reading the same thread

i agree normally. but im not buying this car for everyday road use..... yes a vts is quick but im looking past this. btw my budget is about 15000 including car.so aprox 13500 after buying car.

i will be taking car to track days etc but i am looking at aprox 2 years from buying the car to driving it. till then ill stick with driving my economic grande punto lol.

thank you for all your comments. anyone got any idea of a top modded vts's bhp tourqe and 0-60. just talking figures not taking road conditions in to account.:P

thanks again for all your help you lot are wicked.

With that type of budget I'd get a supercharger set up from GMC.

If you want a saxo only for trackdays I recomend you a vts 16v
is faster than 8v and you have more parts to tune the engine (4-2-1, exhaust group A, remap ECU, etc...)

i was thinking of something quite mad. i got the idea from a project thread someone had posted on a different forum.

it was a vw lupo stripped completeli with a vw v6 put in the front and a seat v6 in the boot! V12 vw LUPO AWD!

so bascially strip my VTS completeli and get another VTS 16v engine and stick that in the back make it AWD 3.2l SAXO BOI!!!!!

has anyone done this?

just realised i kinda hiijacked your thread sorry!

if your looking for a project car i would suggest not buying any old VTS at a good price i would look around for a long time and test drive as many as you can so you know you getting one that doesnt need much work doing to it so it running smooth.

you can do a hell of alot with 15grand dude! alot!
