View Full Version : Fitting air filter to carb engine

hello just came across a air filter and i only know how to fit them to the injection model however i drive a 97 Saxo desire with a Carb engine and i don't have any idea how to go about fitting a aftermarket air filter

its not a carburettor man its an spi engine
there is a guide somewere on how to do it
however there are kits designed for the spi inlet

are SPI engine's any good I checked and I defiantly have one compared to carb and injection

spi is fine man its just a simpler cheaper way to do it runing one large injector rather than 4 on the mpi
hence the names single point injection and multi point injection

i had a 1.1 spi saxo last year and it was allright

any cheep easy mods you know of for spi's going to buy an air filter for it i know I need a kit I found it on line hoping its relatively easy to fit and I think my ta-pits are a bit out are they hydrolyic in my car or do I need to adjust them

tbh the spi isnt really worth tuning as they tend to be small capacity and its not an ideal inlet setup for power
