What extra is reccommended for running bodies on a vts lump?

Id run uprated cams (708's maybe?)
and probely uprate the valves and port and polish the head.

Will a standard bottom end cope with the extra strain or will the internals need changing to forged jobbies?

Planning on rebuilding an s lump to run bodies soon, just wondered if i needed to give the bottom end any more attention

Thanks for any advice etc

Regards

Sam

Standard bottom end would cope fine. Alot of the foreign turbo boys use standard bottom ends on their turbo powered car.

Have a read of some of the ITB'd car threads n see what theyve used.

Ul be fine without forgies with 708's, have you considered using 734's with forgies will make much better power but can still keep the hydrolic lifters?

was unsure what cams to use to be fair. is the extra cost of the forged pistons worth the extra bhp gain form running 734's?

you will be fine with standred internals but a remap would be good for you

708s and oe pistons are fine.

Bottom ends can take abuse and you are not needing to go above 7800 with 708s.

Thanks Ryan. Keep looking at your thread for inspiration. Should make a decent bhp when Im done.

Seriously mate I'd love to buy your engine but the funds arnt there, would save me alot of time but I'm gonna have too get an engine and add bits when funds allow sadly :(
