If you keep the gearbox oil level topped up(check it properly once a week, if it's barely going down, move to once a month) and it'll be ok.
The seals are known for leaking when disturbed.

A leak is still a bad thing no matter how big or small it is, i had someone swap mine over in like 30 minutes
