well if its any help it is an eprom that you clip in,clip out but the holder it clips into needs soldering onto the circuit board. the other needs removing first though

no your gettin it all wrong matey.lol
iv rang a few places up today to see if they will do the job for me but they have all refused to do it if the holder that needs removing is soldered on both sides.
they just said its not a problem putting the new holder in its removing the original thats so hard.

they have all said that it is too hard to melt the solder on the front and the back at thesame time.

do you get me?

thanx for your help though mate!

yes but why would you need to do that is my point, the chip should fit the std holder, and if they cant fit the a new one if they dont use the same chips then i wouldnt get one as they cant be very good at soldering. If its a superchip etc or one of those ebay ones that claim to raise the rev limiter then i wouldnt bother, chips are old hat now adays, you want a remap or new ecu.

ill try the chip in the standard holder but if its slightly different in size or dimension then i will have to fit this new holder. further to previous posts i have been in contact with the company and they said the holder is surface mounted.so its not gonna be solderd on both sides. i dont think smileys/smiley5.gif

cheers for everythin though ratty smileys/smiley2.gif
