Picking my VTS up next week. Its already got a full stainless exhaust, and big disc conversion. I dont want massive performance at the mo, just a few extra horses. Does anyone have any opinions/suggestions as what to do.
Thanks

GMC manifold, Green enclosed air filter, catcam 708 cams, headwork, and either a Dastek or a remap of the standard ecu. smileys/smiley4.gif
or fit a chip off ebay and get 200bhp@wheels. smileys/smiley17.gif

Whats the cheaper option, Dastek or a re-map.

i think a remap is around £400 and a dastek around £500. both do the same job just in a different way. whatever you do stay away from superchips etc though.

Duely noted. Hate to be a pain, but whats the difference itn the way the 2 systems work. Was thinking of getting a manifold and green induction, or possibly an ITG if they do them for the vts

to quote the dastek website (http://www.dastek.co.uk/unichip.htm) : "Unichip is a state of the art piggy-back ECU (Engine Control Unit), designed to optimise the tuning of your petrol car in harmony with your existing ECU. Because every UNICHIP is live tuned to your vehicle, you can be sure you're geting the very most out of your car and any modifications you've made to it."
a remap of the standard ecu is basically what it says on the tin. only downside of a remap is that very few people have the equipment to do it.
i think the ITG is available for the vts but i don't know anyone who has one, as the two most popular enclosed filters are the BMC and Green enclosed.

i've got the simota enclosed filter, miltek stainless including de-cat made a good bit of difference to the car from standard, revs alot more freely and certainly feels a lot sharper.
defo would recommend the simota / miltek combination.
