GMC Manifold

i know that gmc make their manifolds as 4-1's and this is supposed to increase power towards the top end. am i right in thinking that it will still increase the lower end also giving better acceleration? im thinking of getting one for my vtr?

whats a decent 4-2-1 manifold for a mk1 vtr then and wheres a cheap enough place to find one?
