ive read loads about both but i realy want to go down the turbo route, start low psi then upgrade from there. but which would ppl advise doin. low boost or Throttle bodies? ive researched both loads and have sourced all the bits for low boost around the same price as a tb setup. opinions please

boosted will give you more power per pound.....but if you want more boost it will get expensive upgrading internals etc.

not much point in going ITB'S unless your engine is cammed, bit of a waste otherwise.
it will also need a map and best way is standalone ecu,the predator on here is meant to be good.

really dpends what your using car for,itb and cammed could be lump idle and poor driveability if a too wilder cam is used.

Low boost setup would see more power.

To see the same kind of power as above from N/A tuning you would definatly need cams/forged pistons/modified head/bottom end work. That all in all will be very pricy!

Just bodies/cams and headwork mapped on stand alone sits around the 3-4k mark.

throttlebodies, despite popular thinking, is not about adding top end power. Its about adding mid range grunt. You will see a small increase in top end but a bigger increase everywhere else.
Even on standard cams you will see good gains if you can run long enough trumpets (which requires a hole cutting!)

either route i go down i was guna cam n get a predator ecu. i have taken them into account lol. ill probs get low boost then, spesh as i love dump valves and the intercoolers look lush :P

Even on a standard engine you would recommend longer trumpets/inlet length?

longer trumpets would be better for lower end power and driveability, normally shorter trumpets are better for higher rev ranges so on a standard car with standard cams etc a longer trumpet would work better.

start to worry more about the gbox

also takin into account that saxos are so unreliable and always breakin, would low boost cause more problems than TB's ? runnin low boost wuld u need a better gearbox or is it that itl just go thru standard gearboxes all the time ?

Interesting. Did not know this before.

Trumpet diameter anyone? ;)

well thats the theory but in practice often long trumpets get a lot better power virtually everywhere, sometimes even on the top end too.

have driven a ITB clio and a turbo clio and on the road the turbo is sex! but on track.... i much prefer the ITB setup! its all down to what you want to use the car for to be fair mate :)

itl be more of a daily driver and a fun car than a track car. like i want it to be a everyday driver but i want to take it to track days and have some fun aswel :) im lookin more towards the turbo because if i go low boost i can slowly upgrade it and make it quiker :)
