Ello People,
I have a saxo 1.1i as you can see below, not many people like it on this site..BUT OH WELL anyway im just after any sort of tips on what i can do to enhance the engine performance, i know its only a 1.1i and im not going to be a 1.6 VTS but all im after really is just fast acceleration, not bothered about top speed. At the moment i have a induction kit on it and thats about it, when i put the induction kit on i felt a difference in responce i also have a cold air pipe which believe it or not, it did make a bit of a difference. Other mods i was thinking about were a manifold and may be even re-boring the holes on the engine...so ive been told is possible...

Any1 got any idea on what i could do...please bear in mind im not rich guy..so lower the expece the better...talkin of which i havent chipped it yet... is that worth doing????

you wont get any power out of a 1.1, stick a vtr bottom end on etc that will make it a 1.6 1.1 lol, can get engines for around £200 complete and will only need to fit it to make it work. Best is always displacement

Modding a vts/r

I would advise you to start off and get a green enclosed or bmc ind kit(EITHER AS BOTH ARE RATED JUST AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER), Now a full scorpion decatted system (OR SS,MAGNEX,JANSPEED),followed by a supersprint 4-2-1 manifold (OR GMC) Now I would get some headwork done by a well known garage(JAMSPORT ex) port, polish and skimmed (SKIMMED IS NOT COMPULSARY)and now a catcam708(RESEARCH FOR OTHERS) at the same time i would have a re-map done again by(JAMSPORT) but there is a cheaper route ie the dastek unichip which is a piggy back ecu, and to finish her off ild strip it then race it(TRACK)

No point modding a 1.1 engine as ratty says as you wont see much of a gain.

i agree, maybe get a cat-back for slight performance or manifold these will give u noise and make it alittle better, anything else will just cost silly money for not much more power.

I agree, better off dropping in a VTS or VTR engine!!! Will see better power gains and your money will go further!!! smileys/smiley20.gif

sort out breathing mods first mate. if you got the money for a full system with 4-2-1 manifold then go for it but if not then just get yourself a de-cat pipe and a 4-2-1 manifold for now as they are where you get the main increase in breathing mods

there is no point in putting breathing mods on a 1.1 you will gain nothing.

ratty we all know there is no point in really modding a 1.1 at all but im just tellin the lad what would be the best bet if he didnt want to spend too much money. obviously headwork would go the furthest as with any car without turbos etc.
