not alot, putting it back on and gettin it lined up is the hardest part, if you have the tool, and a ramp, or ev en axles stands, its bout 2-3 hour job

also interested in this, also anyone know how much roughly a garage would charge to fit one?

prob £100, pends on there hourly rate, could do it in a garage in no time, would recomend doing a clutch at the same time, the most annoying thing is lining it up, and acces, garage can do these with ease, so between 2-3 hours labour, plus i would say the clutch price aswell, mite be lucky and they would only charge you for a clutch change, cos they have to take the box off anyways

Cool, cheers for the info. I have a brand new clutch already on (did this when prepping the engine before the conversion) now the bloody gearbox has started to whine and it's only on 50k! I know people recommend putting 1.1 boxes on a vts... is this really worth doing for road use? Or are the vts boxes better made etc?

Thanks.

Fitting a new gearbox isnt too bad tbh.

If you fit a 1.1 gearbox you'll need a non sports (1.0,1.1,1.4) driveshafts

i'd stick with vtr/s box tbh, £100 to fit is about right but deff consider doing the clutch while its out. we supply and fit decent sax clutches for £175 so £100 to just fit a box is about right. not an epic job, some bits a bit fiddly, may be worth doing driveshaft seals while box is out, they are easily damaged getting shafts in/out

Ah, i'll stick with an S one then as I don't want to be changing the shafts.

Thanks.
