The sax is ill! After gettimg uderneith her yesterday i found what i think to be the serious problem!

grease all over brake calipers & a lil spray of grease on the gear box! initial thought was the driveshaft AGAIN! but on further inspection (moving the wheels) i found the diff was clonking more than a clonka!! also saw a slit in the drop down link for the suspension!!

So its a comination of the diff & the shaft & dampers needin replacing & the drop link slittin!! im thinkin this is whats causing it to feel different & make the horrible sounds!!

so what i need is rough prices for a decent 2nd hand/re-con gearbox either a XSI or VTS/GTI.... i can get the shaft rubber boots re-done & drop link can wait till the dampers can be done.... £££££££ £££££££ gotta love the sax..... smileys/smiley7.gif smileys/smiley14.gif

ok just been quoted over £1000 for a new gearbox, a citreon originla part & fitted! OMG!! they said that £350 plus me supplying the box would also be anotherway around it!

i asked how long it would take? they said approx 2hours mayb a lil longer..... think bout it!!!!! i supply the parts, there cost = £0 they fit the parts there cost per hour labour = £35 say! plus fluids £30.... so it should only be about £150... at most! dam garages.......... smileys/smiley5.gif
