cheers people...............well first day on the job!!
my vtr engine is pritty much ready to drop out..only things is the mounts...

the only problem i am having is removing my loom from the car....anyone else had this problem ,plus the loom i have for the vts has been cut twice, the first place it has been cut is not a problem and i know where the wires join to,but the second cut is 4 wires which i can only explain at the first set that branch off from the main big circle multiplug they are for blue wires and one white one iirc......dont know where these would go????

ive got oil,new oil filter and spark plugs and im chaging the crank seals and timing belt tomorrow....

if anyone could shed a bit of light on the loom situation this would be much apriciated!!

cheers

alright mate, fitted a gti 2 weekends ago and a vts yesterday! think if i'm right, the four blue wires and white ure on about branching of the big multiplug are to go to ure fuse box, there should be a brown and yellow multiplugs in there which these wires connect to!

i think i know what your on about mate......so by cutting the multiplugs off which connect to the four wires will this make the rest of the loom attached to the engine free as this is the problem im having removing my old loom........the rest of it is free apart from the bit atached to the fuse box iirc.......when ive got the engine in and ive got the wires left after cutting the multiplugs off, what goes to what???

cheers mate!!!;);)

erm trying to understand this lol, ure multiplugs in the fuse box come out by pull out the big red locking pin, then the loom will be free, then ure wires will have to be attached to them, as for where they go i cant remember of the top of my head and i'm working away from home! so, if they are the same colours and amount, as the vtr loom i would go for the same places! :)

get a complete loom that matches your car that hasnt been fucked about with, then it just plugs in.
other than that its so much easier than people think

Im still in the middle of doin mine and ive got problems with wiring to. ive got a mk2 vtr with a phase 3 vts engine and a gti loom and im havin trouble with the loom. ive been told not to cut wires as it can effect in car diagnostics and i wont be able to clear faults on the ecu when i get it running. So not sure what to do now hah. its all a ballache but will be awsome when i get it going, good look with urs matee!
