hi,can anyone give me some more information.ive had a friend around to have a look at my car,its developed a popping sound in the last few days.after a brief look around he seems to think that it could be the cam shaft,as when revvin the car the sound goes faster.has anyone else had this problem? i also seem to be using more fuel to,not sure if that has any bearing on the problem.my car has just turned 61000 miles on a y reg,ive recently had a new gearbox and clutch,is my problem now a big one with big cost???? please help!!!!

vtr or vts? guessing vtr as you say camshaft!!

check your tappet torlanaces as it it make a ticking noise if they are off, and will get faster when revving!!

very much doubt it be the camshaft itself.
