Hi , i brought my car in march , i had a new cam belt fitted. I dont know if havin the new cam belt caused this, but my car over revs majorly from time to time usually when i stop at traffic lights. Also there is a strange noise coming from under the bonnet that seems to control the revs it sounds a little like some kind of belt but my mechanic says it isnt..iv had 2 computers plugged into my car and neither can find a fault which is strange, so nobody can point out the problem.... I really need some help its doin my head in !!!

When i had my cam belt changed, the throttle cable was reconnected too tightly so it kept killing the revs, sounds like you've got the same problem just doing the opposite thing to mine, i just took it back to the garage and they sorted it then and there for me.
Take it back to where you had the work done and see what they say, they should put it right if its their error when putting the car back together.
