broken downpipe??

Driving last night at like 40 mph, and all of a sudden bang.

new it was something to do with my exhaust, couldnt check as it was half eleven at night.

checked today and find this, how the hell did that happen. its literally sheared off.

anyone know how much it usually costs for a new downpipe?
