r 8v's quicker off the mark than 16v's but 16's faster topend? my 2 mates got calibras and the 8's faster than the 16v off the line

I just changed from a VTR to VTS this week, I would say the VTS is pretty much quicker all round, but more noticeable at about 50mph+ theres more of a difference than I thought there would be, I love it

I would have thought the VTS would be quicker all round too, as it has that extra power!!! smileys/smiley4.gif

its not too bad if you stay below 4000rpm. Ive been doing that 80% of the time and mines reading 190 miles and its exactly on the half tank line...

vts in quicker than the vtr, but like mentioned its the fact of the vts having 16v and reving more than the vtr.
not sure if it apllies to the vtr/s but alot of cars that have the 8v and 16v models with the same motor, the 8v tends to be more torquey than the 16v and the 16v tends to rev more LOL
like you said with the calibras, my mates had the argument a few years back, we did a test LOL drive along at 70mph in4th on dual carrage way and plant foot down at the same time, the 8v pulled away for a while, the 16v tended to rev loads and catch up, then nick off LOL
wasnt much difference in 0-60 times.
