hey just bought a 1.4 s2 106 with bike carbs, rallye head, 421 mani and pugsport pretty much wanna swap everything over on to my 90bhp mk1 saxo silvertop atm its running like a dog in the 1.4 cus its over fueling will this still happen in the 1.6? i was told i might have to put smaller jets in it? i thought just a good re-map will sort it out any ideas on this subject cus i cba for it to be running like a dog on me, also will the rallye head just bolt straight on?

To be honest it sounds like a bit of a botch job. A VTR engine is only 90bhp so its likely your 1.4 is doing this or more if it had a Rallye cam in it. Do you know if its a S1 or S2 rallye cam? Yes the rallye head will bolt on a 1.6 engine. Depending on what engine rallye head and what VTR engine they could even be exactly the same head casting.
If its on carbs you can not remap the fuelling. Has some one just stuck cabs on with the original ECU still in place? I only ask as I have see quite a few people claim this works but every one of there cars had run poorly. Get your self a stand alone ignition management system and get it properly setup.
It sounds like you need to get your car to a good reputable motorsport company so they can give it a good once over and give a a good tune up and sort it all out for you.
Do you have any photos of your setup?

my mate currently has the car for a few hours cus we bought it between us cus he wants the wheels and g/box lol this is the ebay add

yea its the standard ecu and its an s1 rallye head and standard cam like i say its over fueling like a b***h following my mate homw in it last night it was spitting flames quite alot looked pretty impressive but a bit owrrying at the same time lol and he used £45 worth of fuel getting it back 200 miles so its just drinking the fuel, but in a 1.6 the overfueling might sort it self out but like i say would fitting smaller jets help? but like u say i really need to talk to a decent tuning company tbh i know nothing about bike carbs

If you can afford ignition only ECU it would help greatly. Most important would be get your self to a rolling road that can do bike carbs, they should breath a world of life in to it for you. :y:

Nice evian bottle ;)
Doesnt look like the tidiest setup, but if you get the ECU sorted, i wouldnt expect it to perform any less.

Ah ok looks like they have botched it a bit. First thing I would do is get your self some air filters. Next would sort out some sort of crack case breather as you can see the engine is spitting out its oil. I am not overly familiar with most bike carbs but I am relatively certain yours are plumbed in incorrectly. I would try and get hold of some one who really knows about bike carbs. Sorry to say I don't know any one around Peterborough but if you phone about there should be a local tuning company that can plumb the things in and set them up for you.

im guessing the evian bottle is just there to catch oil lol to sort that out all id need is a nice chrome tank and some length of samco hosing lol when you say airfilters do u mean get some trumpets and put some socks over them? and yea dint even notice the broken oil breather pipe there lol funnily enough the same pipe on my vtr is broken there pretty brittle lol i think i might just sell these on its seams like to much work for someone who has no money lol id love to take them off the 106 and keep them till next month untill ill hav some money but ill have to take my throttle body off the vtr cus we need to get the 106 running and sold but i cant be with out my car lol wat to do hmmm...... hopefully my mate where im keeping the car wont mind me keeping it there on his drive for a month or so lol
