xsara vts is a 2.0 iirc
the 1.8 i woulndt really see much point as its a lot of work and custom mounts shafts gear lnkages ect for not much gain iver a vts lump
would be cool to see it done to be different but i cant really see it being worth the effort

aye the xsara vts is a 2.0L, the 1.8's came in the vtr edition of the xsara, there slower than a saxo vtr also iirc (obviously more weight) and i think for a 1.8 there lacking alot of power, just over 100 bhp i think. there has been a xsara vts engine put into a 106 before there was pictures of it on here a few weeks ago, no pictures or proof of it working though. also there is the twin engined saxo they could be xsara vts engines i think. not sure though.
i think if you want a bigger engine then the 1.8 xsara would be a poinltess swap as its still going to be slower than a standard vts

Xsara vtr is 1.8 16v and 135bhp so its not slow
mine wasnt as quick point to point as my s16 but then id not changd all the suspension and brakes.
Wouldnt be any easier or harder to fit than the gti6 lump as the mounts are all the same.

so what would be the best way to more power i was looking to get between 180 to 200 bhp (i dont do turbos)
should i go back to the trusty redtop

i ve seen a lads vts kicking out 190bhp dyno print out to prove. but he doesnt know whats been done. its only five speed gearbox so it cant surely be a gti6 can it? any ideas?
