106 1.4 xsi head onto vtr bottom end

Fairly new to the forum

Been offered a 1.4xsi engine with the bottom engine gone very cheaply

Does anyone know how different the head is compared with a mk1 (black top) vtr head

Id be looking to p+p it before fitting etc

So I couldnt use the cam in the xsi head?? as its a kent cam

are the valves different sizes ?

I have not worked on all that many Black top VTRs but all the ones I have seen all used the same size cam bearings as the XSI. I know quite a few people on the AXOC have found the same. So yes it will swap over if this is the same as yours. However there is a guy adamant on here that the that the VTR uses the small bearing cam. Possibly they Citroen swapped it at some point? I could not tell you. But if you have got a small bearing head your cam will not swap. The valves are the same in both heads.
