My engine started judderin today while i was driving it, it seemed like there was no fuel getting too it and was loosing power when i tried to accelerate,

when i tried to start it again later on it started backfiring and making spittin noises then cut out, it kept doing that for about 15 mins then started working again but was still juddering

now it wont stay on for anymore than 2 seconds it keeps cutting out

anyone know what could be wrong with it or experienced the same problems??
thanks

Hi,

Has the fuel filter been changed? There is a long list of possible causes which relate to these...

1) Electrical
2) Fuel mixture
3) Compression

my vts was kinda doing that, ended up putting it on the diagnostics and it turned out to be the map sensor, changed that and sorted it out been running better then ever, not sure where the map sensor is on a 1.1 though sorry

yeh i had mine checked on the diagnostics machine today and evrything was reading well but i still had the juddering, misfiring, spluttering etc so he told me to go up the scrappy and get a stepper motor as a first solutiong then go from there, these things are all a process of elimination
