hi there guys,

done a search but nothing of this kind came up,

basicaly its a chip that you solder into your ecu.

the company that is selling them can also change the map (ignition and fueling)?

he said

Dear gbey016,

Hi,

Sure I can change fuel and ignition maps to suit your mods.

Regards
Peter

Its a proper chip, however with out being set up on a rolling road with your car it will only be a general map!

yes but will the chip increase my bhp if he maped it with all my modifications?

i have the proper soldering staition (hot air rework station)

Mate, i wouldn't buy anything like that off eGay.
An extra 12bhp for £40...i dont think so.

If it really gained you 12bhp, then i think he would be selling it for a lot more tbh

it will still need to go on a rr for a 'live' setup if im right

Argh, its perfectly capable of gaining bhp and torque if done correctly. Its exactly the same as how wayne at chip wizards does his except its just a generic chip.

Ive never tested that one but ive had one and it gained 5bhp and 5lbf on a back to back test.

Im not going to reccomend it because its all down to the person that created the map, but im not going to slate it either because its quite feesable I will work just fine.

Anybody that lives close to me is more than welcome to come try one my ecus FOC and see what you think...

Depends how good the map is on the chip.

If it's been loaded with a remap from a car with the same, or very similair mods to your car, and the map has been done by someone who knows what they're doing then you could well see an increase in power.

If it's just the OE map that's been tweaked by someone on a laptop and it's never seen a rolling road then it's not worth it.

Galletto 1260 i just bought 1 of these,

that chip was for the 1 plug ecu's

with this Galletto 1260 you can re-map your own car, and if you fuk it up you can save a base map to put it back to stock.

its done through your dyno port.

think its only the 3 plug ecus that work with it though

how many people have been conned by 2p resistors for the sensors and that demon tunning bollocks with the cooker switch dial...

Exactly the same as a Superchip.

read the thread and you will find out its not the 2p resistor!

Are you talking about the single plug ecus there or 3 plug ecus. Were talking single plug here the 1ap.xx range, the only way to change the map is to rewrite the chip manually. 3 plugs can be done via obd.

if your good at mapping (not alot of places are) you can map single plugs either in the car or on the bench (talking to the ecu while its out of the car but not open)

Last ecu i saw done by chip wizards was socketed inside!

so chip wizzards for single plugs take that 'chip' out have a fiddle then refit.

i have heard ruhmor too that he just uses maps from other cars if it a bad day lol

You can get a bit of kit that you plug in place of the chip and it acts like an emulator. It allows you to mess with the map whist the cars running. Once your done you write it to the chip and refit it. Im not sure what kit wayne uses though. It would make sence for him to use the same map then tweek it rather than start over when doing em though

I used a ebay chip similar to this was £90 at the time and did have a performance map on confirmed by the person who later done a rolling road remap to my new modifications.

It improved accelleration and had the car running great when it just had exhaust and air filter however the car under powered once cams were fitted

I suggest everyone have a read of this:

http://www.106rallyeforum.com/forum2008/showpost.php?p=587757&postcount=1

Nothing to say that doing the same but with a replacement EPROM chip won't reap the same sort of gains.
