i recently just got my custom stainless stel exhaust done and whilst i was their i saw how they was bending it and welding it. i thaught this may be a good idea for boost pipes.

i asked the owner and he said they can do it for me for 200for the custom pipes and silicone connectors. i no this is expensive but if i get them to run them the way i want then i would be able to fit my vts rad ahd twin fan.

apart from the price do you think this is a good idea? im not to sure as the type of material n heat..

theyre bent on a pipe bender or mandrel bender, you could do it yourself for cheaper by buying a pipe bender and the piping to fit your spec, then you can do it till your hearts content for years, if not you could get them to do it but imo you could find someon to do it cheaper if you shopped around although 200 isnt tooo bad for custom work depending on what type of pipe and material used

also someting to think about is you dont want too many bends or any severe bends in your pipewrok sytem, the more rounded and smooth flowing your boost pipe system is the better boost youll achieve every 90 degree bend equates to around a 10% power loss in boost

yea plus every join? thats y i wanted it custom as atm i have like 5 90 degree bends but if they custom made it they said the only joins will be the turbo intercooler and inlet mani and 1 90 degree bend off the turbo. the rest will be all pipework bent specially for my car. plus will save alot of room.

very true about the pipe bender i may have a look around. may even start doing it my self ha

i think they was goin to use the same pipe as they did my exhaust. is their a material better? that is bendable?

stainless steel or aluminium is the norm.... i know ppl have used exhaust piping for it but i wouldnt as its a bit thicker then need be and thus heavier but im sure there will be a few other issues, the smoother the surface the better and exhaust piping generally aint that smooth, gmc and a few other place do specific vtr charge pipes for the vtr, maybe worth a look before you get any custom stuff made??? all depends on how you wanna route it tbh, custom work as you say normally fits specific ppl things in better places so could be the best option?

hmm im sure a bit of extra weight on the front wheels wont hurt. but yea stainless steel is what i was going to go for. ill take a look around then and see what i find :Y:

yea thats how it is now. but ders to many bends. much better to have custom get a much better flow
