Hi Guys
Apologies if information to answer this is on the the forums, am new here!
I have got an 02 Saxi Desire 1.1.
On friday was driving along and the battery light came on, then my power steering went, airbag light on, lights dimmed, and eventually car ground to a halt.
It initially looked simple as a wire had come loose from the alternator, but when fixed still wasnt sending charge to the battery.
After new alternator was fitted the battery light still comes on, and have been told this mean the ecu could have been damaged when the loose wire was flapping around near the alternator.
Does anyone have any experience of this, and if the ECU is dead, what process would i have to go through to get a second hand ECU to work in my car? I believe it may have to be reprogrammed to allow me to use my keys and fob etc in the car?
Any advice would be very much appreciated!!!
