Just wondered if any one could help ...
This may of been asked but i have spent the past few says scawling through threads trying to find out ...
I eventually want to cam my vtr, but due to insufficient funds at the moment, i am going to get the parts slowly but surely, however, i understand that the S1 inlet will not fit the silvertop RR, so what set up do people recommend?
Any helps would be great, even if you say it has been answered before, ill keep looking :)
Thanks

S1 inlet isn't needed to cam your car. Something like a Kent PT40/ Newman PH3 can offer figures in the region of 120bhp at the fly, providing you have breathing mods and have the cam timing adjusted on a rolling road.
If you wanted to fit an S1 inlet, you'd need a 90bhp silver top head with the older inlet spacing.

Thanks :)
Would it be worth upgrading the inlet anyway as from what i have read the standard one isnt much cop?

Standard inlet won't be a problem with a cam profile similar to a PH3 imo. A wilder cam would probably need throttle bodies.

Thread title says it's an 03 plate VTR - 98bhp engine with the revised inlet manifold and port spacing.

I thought by reading this that he had a 90bhp silvertop and was wondering how he could fit the S1
Shouldnt a 2003 98bhp have the black top?

Nah, he has the 98bhp engine. He'd need to swap to a 90bhp head if he wants to fit an S1 inlet. Either that, or you'd need to modify the inlet in some way to make it fit.
All 8V engines 1998 and onwards are silver top with roller rockers. <1998 are black top.

Ok great, but like you said, in your opinion it would be fine, just wouldnt want to take a risk and fook the engine ...
What other inlets fit the VTR head do you know?
S2?

Why would it break your engine? haha.
No idea what other inlets are available mate. The standard one will be fine.
