if you dont want to hit a brick wall then yea you will need to uprate all your breaks, iirc 4 pots all round tbh:y:

behave, you don't need to uprate everything brakes wise!
westie brakes on the front are the same as vtr/s
I wouldn't get out of bed for a 1.4 8v to a 1.6 8v engine conversion - got 16v if you can afford it

No, it will be more because its classed as a modified car.

how much more do you reckon they would charge?

well I can imagine your only modification wouldn't be a vts engine?
It would vary on your situation and driving experience etc. but with my mods, alloys, bigger brakes, lowering, exhaust system it was cheaper.
Best to phone around yourself as is the only way to find out properly
