unfortunately there probably isn't much more to suggest other than a new g'box imo, they are common as muck to go and very cheap to pick up
take the gearbox apart if you feel brave and see what's what? have you had a look yourself yet? in terms of garage labour providing you supply the gearbox it's going to cost the same if not less to fit the gearbox than to remove the old gearbox and refurb it.
any idea of what condition the clutch is in?

i think the clutch might be on its way out..but not sure its getting a lil high,
could that be the problem should i try the clutch first bought my car from a boyracer i think

when it selects gear does the car drive alright? if not then the gear selector would make sense..
the clutch can be the cause of not going into gear

yeah when its into gear car drives fine..
but when im in 2rd or 1st without the gas pedal being pressed
it sounds like the revs are still high even tho the revs are dropping
but apart from that drives fine

ah like a whirring noise, would definately suggest gearbox problem then, try and find a local gearbox specialist?

might be an obvious comment but try not to drive it too much - friend of mine had a similar thing but kept driving til she had enough money to fix the gearbox and by that time the clutch and all connected parts were screwed as well and it worked out cheaper to just buy a new car.
good luck with it

as already stated gearboxes are easy to come by. rip yours out simple enough job and put the new one in and change the clutch and thrust bearing while the box is out then you definately no it shouldnt happen again in a hurry. i have a box for sale 120 quid posted only done 74,000. pm me if interested.
