holding revs + power steering not working

Alrite guys, just after a drive in my vts there, the batt light has been flickering this past few days but tonight the car is holding revs, only for a second or two but when this happens I loose power steering aswell. Any ideas? It's a bit of a strange one, how could both probs be related?

just a guess but the alternator could be playing up def sounds like power problem somewhere the power steering is electric powered!

Yeah the batt light flickering would point to the alternator, would explain the power steering not working aswell. But I can't see how it could be related to it holding revs. Just as i loose power steering it starts holding revs.

mine does this now and again. i know whats wrong with mine though, its fucked
