i have a single plug y reg vts engine and having problems trying to rewire the loom to match the interior plug, would a 3 plug loom work?

yep, exactly what ive done. couple of sensors need changing to match the loom, and a new alternator and injector loom

no well not just the loom, cause the ecu connectors different.
Alot of people will tell you to get a 3plug vts ecu and matching loom so its plug and play. But it can be done fairly easly. Tis common for the ax owners to rewire looms since we have to, just the saxo boys get a bit nervous i think :P

i founf it much easier to swap the loom in the end ryan, rad and fan all needs replacing with mk1 wiring as well which is a ballache

There is a solution to that though, using the spare brown temp sensor on the block and a simple circuit + relay. You can then retain the current rad and fan.
Maplin do something that could probably fit the bill

you would need to swap a few resistors to get it switching at the right temp tis all

far too complicated for me that, i like it to be as simple as possible, unplug the old bit and plug in the new bit

with a small amount of application from yourself you can do so much more:). i like the creativeness ryanmt.
