hi everyone has anybody ever had problems with a squeeky S alternator. I replaced the belt about 4 months ago as the bottom pulley decided to split and break up on the rubber tension damper so i replace this with a new alloy one which somebody made for me which was 100g lighter and bout $80 cheaper i then tensioned it up all corectly with right ammount of slack/tension and now my alternator has started makin a high pitched squeelin (cat noise as the misses calls it). I have loosened the belt and no difference and tensioned the belt and no difference. I have now taken the belt off and the noise happens when i turn the top alternator pulley and yes i have tried wd40 . any body had this happen to them and what did they do to fix it as i am unsure wheter it is alternator internals or the pulley. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED PLEASE. hope to speak soon smitla

got a mouse in there ?!

On a serious note, it sounds like the alternator bearing, and iirc these can't be replaced. Might be worth getting a new one on exchange basis for your one?
