Does plugging the Fuel Return Line, Cause excess popping and banging,

My lil theory.....

The return line is there to "return" Excess Fuel?? Making the car more effiecent??

Well if your driving with the return line does that mean you run the engine rich causing it to pop and bang??? :D

Stupid question but just thinkin how mint my cammed VTS is going to sound with a 4-2-1 and a straight thru exhaust and a blocked Return line?
Any ideaS?? :D

It banging and popping won't be doing it any good tbh - you don't wana be shoving in excess fuel !! It's not good for the engine or power !

I'd just get a return line plumbed in.

In theory the fuel will be at a higher pressure - and the injectors will shove more fuel in when they open due to the increased pressure (iirc :S)

Ive got the line but its just really hard to fit :( lol Also ive been without a car for nearly 3 weeks now due to this conversion!

Also ive heard that some people plug them and get fine running :S

It's upto you really tbh - who's going to pay your extra fuel bills? What are you struggling with plumbing it in?

Your effectively running it without an FPR

IMO do it as Citroen intended !

LOl the hardest bit is getting it thru the gromet in the engine bay! The servo is just in the way along with all the bake lines and the fuel stop!!

Then wen u go along the car to the back ITs not just straight forward! You have to take a whole loop out the top and then blank off the breather and then plumb the line??

the fuel line plumbs in through the same grommet as the other fuel line yeh? Isn't too obscured if you remove the little fuse box/move it out of the way? Its easy to move the fuel stop too just to help you.

Yeh, at the tank end it's simple, remove the loop and plumb it in with return line going straight to the pump, and the feed going from fuel pump to filter, then to the engine.

IMO it's good to do it - the engine will stand a chance of running properly and you'll get max life out of it!! If you've gone to the hassle of switching the engine over, plumbing in the return line is easy !

Lol i no, ive just lost all love for the car at the moment!!!! I do see wat ur saying tho cuz the engine has had alot of mods it would be a waste to just leave that little thing out but its so agonising thinkin about the car not working still :( might do it tomorrow before the head goes back on! Yes back on as the head gasket got fitted the wrong way!!!!! :(

its easy to plumb the return! if you dont then you basically arent regulating fuel pressure so will be overfuelling at lower revs and speed which will cause you to bog down and run lumpy

I no ive gone from a 1.4 8v with shit compression as head gasket was gone but still running to a

1.6 16v with kentcams pt50
superchiped and mapped ecu!
4-2-1 with a straight thru!
Gas flowed head!
16 NEw valves!
New head gasket n belt!
Bmc CDA filter :D

Think i will notice the difference? :D
