what do you think would win a race out of a 97 vts with s/steel exhaust, 4-1 manifold, induction kit, chipped by superchips, mapped, short shift, uprated pistons or a standard civic 1.6 vti coupe on a 96 plate which is standard apart from big noisy back box and induction?

whats the 0-60 on them both?

iirc they are incredibly close, well thats for the hatch back, dare say coupe weighs more than hatch back

the civs meant to be 0.7secs quicker to 60 but its heavier bigger and not as modded

why people asking for standard 0-60 times the vts obv isnt standard and its had a lot of work and money spent on it plus its lighter

think the civics 157 bhp, when new. Would be close, take your backseats out etc and you should be faster aslong as you can drive normally.

KeithLemon
26th November 2009, 22:59
it has breathing mods good for what 5bhp?

they were in there when i bought it the bloke siad he was getting it prepd for turbo

they will be lower compression then and ruining any power on an n/a setup

so youll loose tbh

your post reminds me the vts has a boot full of stereo so got a bit of weight in the back but if anything i found it sticks to the road much better and dont feel so twitchy

go to a drag stip and find out then ?

i could say that the vts is faster easily. But it means nothing unless you try it......

Vtech is SLOWWWW, you will have gone before his VTECH kicks in np, also

Street racing threads are gay, if you think your a fast driver and want to race people Go and get involved in motorsport, www.gomotorsport.co.uk

has everyone just ignored alex's post? case/thread closed imo

like he said if it was being turbo prepped it would be running low comp pistons, and maybe even a thicker head gasket/decomp plate
vts would = turd

Clearly wont have these 'mods' lol. Just the guy selling it blagging a bit extra onto the price.

and they clearly aren't the best mods. Low comp pistons with no turbo.. yeah i see logic in that! 'Superchipped'? so basically just overfueling :clapping:

Civic will be standard, therefore set-up perfect = winnar

There both the same thing?

AlexB

as per several posts youve ignored

your car will be running fuck all power
the compression will be too low and the fueling all over the place

tbh i think youve been mugged over as if someone was prepping for a turbo they would do a lot more than just pistons and a chip would be suprised if it had them in it tbh

civic would win im afraid even if its standard the b16 engine is so much better than the citroen equiv

You can change the eproms "the chip" and then you alter the "map" on that "chip".

Some places cant map the standard ECU live hence "chipping" the ecu.

So no they are not the same thing like you said above

All jokes a side about the mods, a healthy vts with decent breathing mods will be quicker than a stock vti ;)
