Last night I was driving very carefully through a flood in my lowered VTR, when a lorry decided to come through at about 30 the other way. COMPLETELY flooded my car, which now needs e new engine (cheaper than rebuild).
Mine is a 1998 VTR, I've seen a 2000 VTR engine for £235! Would this fit mine? Obviously don't want to fork out £235 if it won't.
Cheers :)
Tom.

How is that mate? Do you have air filter ducting low down?
Or a open filter?
I dont see how water will have gotton into a engine with a standard airbox on

SaXo_vtr123 - It's a completely standard engine, the lorry obviously created a wave, I thought it had shorted the battery so I tried starting it, and as a result, 'ducked' my engine up!
RichyBoiVTR - It's actually an ebay auction, doesn't say anything about the ECU...

Its quite easy for it to happen tbh..
If the wave caused by the lorry went into the grill, then into the airbox the engine would soon suck some in..
