ok is it true that a non set spark plug gap can make the engine run upto 25% slower?

also what is the gap ment to be set at?? as im getting some new ones for my service?

also am i best to go for the plugs with the four things coming out of them?
or what?? because some are one and some are two then four??:y:

thanks.

lol, incorrect ignition timing from spark plugs means petrol not being burnt

saxo's are 0.9mm, all car's are different

and this is an engine question lol...

thanks ashleyp. so this could be why my crx pops flames all the time as fuel not being burnt.

and i was thinking all the gaps was the same lol. ok next time ill put threads in the saxo bits etc etc.

so a 1.4i sparkplug gap would be different to a 2.0i gap?

even the same cc gaps can be different
it depends on the specific engine

Plugs dont affect the ignition timing!
They do affect the combustion process. An incorrectly gapped plug will give a weak spark, this will result in not all of the fuel being burnt.
Plugs should come correctly gapped when you buy them.
Multi electrode plugs wont give any benefit other than giveing a more consistant spark for a longer period
ngk r plugs for the win

if you buy the correct plugs for the car the gap should be pre set on them i away measure to make sure! but they are always right!

Sorry if i'm a wee bit late on this and it's already sorted but on my old b16 and my h22 there is a sticker on the right hand side of the rocker cover where the pullies are which says NGK- then a number and that is the correct spark plug for that engine.
