what benefits will i have in changing the manifold on my vts as the cat isnt in the manifold??

Depends on the tune of your engine and the manifold your swapping it for. But if its a standard engine there will be not much of a gain for the most part. The standard manifold is actually a quite well tuned 4-2-1 design that complements the standard engine quite well to start with.

It sounds better (if you like that sort of thing; which I do!!)
It's MUCH much lighter
It does make more power on tuned engines, but as above, less on a stock engine. But it WILL come into it's own as you tune your car up in the future

pretty much everything that andy has said.
it help the exhaust gases escape alot faster and the standard manifold is very restrictive
