right my exhuast has started to blow at the joint behind the cat..... can i just apply putty around the clamp without taking the clamp off or should i take the clamp off re putty and then apply the clamp and tighten ???

Try it with it on, it may be ok. If not then just take it off and apply it, good luck mate :)

ok mate all i needed to know thanks alot will crack on with it in the morning shall i remove all the old paste or apply the new paste over the old

Where abouts is it blowing? You shouldn't have a clamp on the joint where the Manifold meets the centre section only on the centre section to backbox. Unless the VTS exhaust is different to mine, then I'm not sure.

i have sorted it.... sanded it all down new putty.. the clamp wasnt on staight meaning it was blowing a fair bit the exhuast sounds 50x better now... easy job thanks for the advice
it was the joint after the cat mate that was blowing

mate i really enjoy working on my car just i can only do small things,,, but will need your help in the summer, want you to give me the run down to servicing the beast and then your be sorting the rest

For sure - have to sort out a little masterclass !
If you have some spare £££ I can recommend the halfords professional tool kit, around £100 and it has everything you'd pretty much need for doing jobs !
