View Full Version : do i need to fit valve springs with ph3's

i have just been to a garage and asked them if they would fit my newman ph3 cams in my 106 gti for me, they guy said that i should get new valve springs aswell because i will get valve bounce? what do you guys think, im sure i have seen loads of people fit ph3's on standard valve springs? any info anybody has would be greeeeat

the standard springs should be fine m8, as long as ur rev limit isnt raised to high, mine is 7800 and i have no problems with 708s, not much difference in cams.

where do you live and what have you been quoted to have them fitted?

he lives in south devon, he hasn't been quoted anything yet though.

i live in devon mate, i think im just going to get them fitted without getting new valve springs, then at a later date if i go for more power i will get them done

my ph3 are on the standard springs and is fine, but can change them to be safe.
