Hi i have noticed on manic motors that they can fit newman ph1 cams on my car for around £400 i was wondering what would i gain with these cams? I can get a remap done round by me by one of my mates from work for like £150.

This place is in Newcastle tho so is a bit of a mission does anyone know any places closer to the midlands that do the same things for the same price.

My car is running at 78bhp and was wondering how many more i would see added before and after a remap with these cams?

Thanks a lot sax-p

PH1 you wouldnt see much gain from tbh, waste of money for the cam, the 400 quid fitment, and a remap would be completly un-neccecery for such a mild cam.

BHP increase would be .. 5-8 bhp increase at the very most?

Not too sure about places closer down your way but ManicMotors from what ive heard, are amazing.

If i were you i would invest in a more aggresive cam, and then think about getting it re-maped.

For the price of all that you could get a vtr conversion and see bigger bhp increase.

for the money you will be spending ph1's would give too much gain. most people on here choose ph3's. or the most cost effective way to increase power is putting in a 16v lump, this will be a lot cheaper than camming and will give a lot more power.

For a descent vts engine with all the conversion parts £350 (i belive someone is selling one in the "for sale" section)

Fitment by someone who knows what their doing e.g. ManicMotors £250-£300? possibly abit more.
