Well Basically im driving a mk2 Vtr 01 reg, so the 98 bhp version, as im making quite alot of extra money at work im planning on splashing out on performance parts.
Im planning on getting these parts anyhelp with other manufactures or makes would be much appreciated :)
Bmc Cda induction
Supersprint 4-2-1 mani
Newmans ph3 cams
Uprated pulley
and finish with a remap
Also i was wondering what sorta bhp figures id be looking at here as looking through threads people seem to find figures anywhere from 118 bhp all the way up to 150 bhp :S so i was just wondering what figure do you truly reckon i would see, and would these parts cut my 0-60 times by much ? or would i just feel better throttle response and a bit more power across the whole of the rev counter?
:fcuk: Cheers! :fcuk:

dont buy a bmc, get yourself a panel filter and cold air feed.
supersprint are good manifolds as are the cams
final power depends of the general health of the engine and setup of the cam and remap.
how long is a peice of string kind of thing.
You would be looking between 115-125ish
0-60 wouldnt be much quicker, but you will feel more grunt through the revs
get it done and rolling roaded only way to find out really

save your money for a VTS. VTRS are not fast

Agreed.. leaves you better scope for tuning in the future. VTS with those mods you spoken about will get you nearer to the 150bhp you talk about.

alot of people will say buy a VTS engine and put that in, and tbh this is the best way to do things. Unless your dead set on tuning your vtr block.
each engine performs slightly different so its hard to say on a forum what the exact figure would be.

115->about 125 is common cammed 8v territory
150ish is more cammed 16v region
both of the same spec so at a quick read could easily mix it up as the specs will be the same if you dont know the engine type
and the bmc is pontless on a tuned motor
mine limited 8 bhp to running open tb on the rollers :/
after looking i think the simota/raceland scoop style with a decent green in are better
but standard with a decent feed and filter i think youll be laughing

If you can't afford a VTS then go for the mods you've listed, a mate of mine has a VTR with a mild cam in it and it goes very well.

Or you could always put a rallye head on your block they have got either a 270 or 280 degree cam in them as standard and it will go very nicely then. Failing that a cheap way is change your gear box for either a 106 xsi or maybe if you can find one a 1.3 rallye gearbox as these are super sort ratios. Just helped my mate fit a vtr block to his rallye which has cam, pugsport and raceland mani with a igt panel filter and it goes very well.
