Doing a vtr > VTS Conversion, the vtr engine runs ht leads to the sparks but i want to run the S engine using the coilpack they have. Am i going to run into any problems regarding switching them over?
I presume as long as i get the right year vts loom for the car/engine ill be fine.

Also how crutial is it to have an engine from the same year as the car? As fiding an r reg vts engine and loom is hard to come by. Surely as long as the loom is the same plug (single) it'll fit and run with an unlocked ecu and car (immobiliser)

Edit- Hopefully lee can give me some advice on the conversion as his rallye used to run leads if im correct.

Coil pack will fit straight on no problems. The connector plug is part of the engine loom anyway so straight fit.

Any single plug engine/loom should run fine. Just make sure the main connector is same size as your existing one. As you say get the ecu and everything as well if you can

any mk1 single plug loom should do the trick.

Thanks guys, i figured it was part of the loom but had to be sure. Also glad that any single plug ecu will work, ill try and get it with the engine to be sure.
