all i could say is if your sure your not getting a spark, take the coilpack out and fit a spark plug in it and get some dark sunglasses on the go? lol (na, dont lol)
Wouldnt a locked ECU cause this problem?
Or if it was an ECU from another saxo, did it have an imobilizer on it?

yeah the ecu i tried it with was off me mums VTR a W reg mk2 but i dissconnected the immobiliser box whilst the car was running as this apparently unlocks the ecu, then plugged it in on mine and i wasnt getting a spark or no fuel  im just waiting for my own ecu to come back from being unlocked but its really puzzling me and beginning to really stress me out lol

Immobiliser or fuel cut out problem most likely. Have you reset the fuel cutoff mate, its the big red button in the top right hand corner of the engine bay. Press that, if it clicks then it needed resetting, if it doesnt you have another issue

yeah i checked and pressed it earlier mate, and it didnt click so it cant me that :( i literally thought it would be a matter of dropping the engine in, wiring it up and it should fire but like i say there's no spark or fuel :(

Wait till your unlocked ECU gets to you mate, its the most likely culprit. Until you get things running, keep the immobiliser boxes well away from the car to save complication.
One other thing worth replacing as theyre cheap to get hold of is the crank sensor though, that can cause your problem. Not a plug but I do have one for sale should you want one, though you should have one from your 1.4 setup?

okay mate, im praying to god that its the ecu lol, mine should be on its way back now depending on the weather, and yeah would the engine still turn over though if the immobiliser kicked in? and yeah mate i do have a working crank sensor off of the 1.4 engine

Aye, immobilser cuts fuel and spark. It should bring up a flashing key on your dials though

I cant remember seeing it to be honest mate, i just hope its the case of the immobiliser kicking in, i need to get back on the road asap, 3 weeks without my car is long enough lol :n:

what you mean mate? i unplugged the westie loom from near the battery and plugged in the VTR loom which was a straight plug in, i put all the plugs on the right connections, the only thing different on my vtr loom to the westie loom is the alternator connection and the main ecu plug...

No that's cool and the way it's meant to be! I just read your first post asif you'd had to rewire some connectors.
If loom is all good, then I'd say either Ecu, a bad/not fitted earth or some sort of bad component.
Does the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on?

ahh okay mate lol, and no it doesnt prime at all, like i say the engine turns over, but theres no spark and no fuel coming up what so ever, im hoping that it will be the ecu :/

I'm pretty sure the Fuel pump ultimately takes it's power feed from the Ecu so aslong as you've got the fuel pump connected up, and the fuel cut-off switch is good then points to Ecu.
Spark wise Id say could be either cps, coilpack or immobiliser.
Coilpack should be cool if worked before, but maybe not disregard it.
Cps should be fine, if it's plugged in and bolted in then I'd leave it for now.
Just leaves immobiliser, if your immobiliser box is unplugged then wait for your Ecu to come and give it a try.
Let us know if your still having trouble and will see if can rule things out with a multimeter

Also how'd you plug your mums mk2vtr ecu into your mk1vtr conversion?
Don't the mk2vtrs have a 3plug ecu?

yeah i think ill do that ill wait for my ecu to come back, and my mums Vtr is the facelift version, it still has the single plug ecu type.... i can always look at her wiring and compare it against mine to see that all is wired up correctly....

Hi again lads just to let ya know i received my ecu back today and i plugged it in with the immobiliser dissconnected and me car still wouldnt start so at this point im thinking fuck it, whats up lol! just out of curiousity i pulled back the covering on the wire on the crank sensor to find out the green wire was cut, must of been where the engine was resting on it on the floor, so i reconnected it first turn of the key and she fired straight up and sounds like a Beaut, just wanna say thanks to all you lads thats helped me out,, im so relieved and happy :) Lee
