A mk2 VTR? that pisses on Mk1 VTS'?? you must have it modded then? cos A VTS (both mk1 and mk2) are both 120BHP and VTR's have two different engines, black tops are 98BHP and silvertops are 90BHP.

Nope Black and silver tops (single plug ecu pre 2001) are 90 horses of power, while 2001+ silver tops and three plug ecu are 98 horses of power!

if your vtr pisses a vts then i have a 20 inch shlong.... unless youve done some serious work on it then no chance im afraid my mate has a vtr running at 119bhp at the flywheel and that only just about keeps up with a standard vts even when hes absolutly caning it mate sorry that just sounds a little bit dreamy to me:wacko:

I have a 2000 w reg vtr so i must have the 90 hp engine rite so is there much difference between mine and the 98hp engine? and or is it possible to convert to the 98hp? many thanks

there wouldnt be hardly anything in it at all mate almost un-noticable, slight difference... if you added a couple of breathing mods it would bring it upto the same power maybe bit more anyway mate

bhp figures are pub talk.

everyone will say mk1 90bhp and mk2 98 but people can never be sure as wear and tear to the engine can reduce the bhp.

only if the results are accurate or stable.

ie you cant compare results from one dyno to another,but you can tune your car on a single dyno as long as its conisistant and no other variables are changed.

to get ultimate power figures atleast 3 runs on 3 different but reliable dynos and take the average.

going to one dyno session and getting a single figure isnt gonna be the most accurate.

some mk2 vtr's have single plug mk1 engine in on the crossover.
of course this is always overlooked or not even known by many.

look at the ecuyou might have to take the cover off.
how many plugs it got?
the other thing is to do,were is the cat situated?manifold or under car?

i completely agree with you mate its like with anything that gets tested though isn't it you do a few runs 3-5 and then you get 3-5 different figures and you take the average from it that would be the best way.

yep it defo is under manifold

if under car and not in mani then its a mk1.
to tell deffo check how many plugs the ecu have.
get a haynes,thatl show you exactly were ecu is.
