Has anyone ever thought bout removing everything from the rear of the car and putting a Vts Turbo'd engine in to run the back wheels and a vts turbo'd engine to run the front wheels? I wonder what power, 0-60 etc it would achieve. In theory it would be a 4wd 3.2 twin turbo saxo!!!

Im sure someone has thought about it but it would cost a hell of a lot of money!

easily done but youll need a lot of money and they both have to run together properly its no good one being faster than the other but it can be done anything is possible

yep it was a black nova on 18's built by regal autosport in southampton...

they had trouble getting both engines to run together so i believe they scrapped the project in the end....

:| y not just use the extra space at the back and put a better bigger engine in ? then it would be RWD saxo xxxx?? TURBO ! lol, that sounds craaaazy though, two engines front and back.

it aint really worth it i dont think trying to get both engines to work in perfect harmony what with the gear change electrics cooling etc may aswell get an engine with the same output as both n stick it in the back thinkin about it tho i swear ive seen a kit car company make twin engine thing an they tested it on top gear or 5th gear

the new bugatti (probably spelt wrong smileys/smiley5.gif ) is a twin engine quad turbo 1000bhp car made bye volkswagon and it cost 5million to build smileys/smiley3.gif

so money can do pretty much anything......

lets just say an ax with a vts turbo engine in is plenty enough fast nevermind a twin engined one, ask mooser on ssc for confirmation smileys/smiley17.gif although the problem is getting the power down, once moving your fine.

that bugatti aint really got two engines tho has it i thought they just used a W engine with 4 turbos

bugatti engine is a W16 cylinder engine.

TVR speed 12 is two cerbra engines spliced together.

A german tuning company modded an Audi TT to have an engine in the front and one in the rear - these type of veichles are usually called Bi-Motos.

A caterham was made that had a bi-moto configuration... it broke a driveshaft when they attempted the 0-62mph world record for a road legal car.

Main problem is getting the engines to be in sync you cant have one pushing hard than the otherwise you knaker both engines n transmissions and unlikely to have any handling qualities. To overcome it you need some ECU to keep a tight monitor things - which needs some equally clever software. As Reefy said be easier to lob a f*cking massive engine in the back.

would be nice to see it done though smileys/smiley17.gif .what sort of power figures it would push out
