I only use Silkolene Pro S 5w/40 with an OEM filter now.
Engine felt so much smoother

Agreed, Why would you use semi synthetic like the rest and have more chance of things going wrong. Fully all the way.

It's also about the type of fully synthetic oil you put in.

all got from the faq section - worth reading before buying your 'fully synthetic' oil.

Good choice!!
I've got to service mine again soon, tempted to go for 10litres and some nice gearbox fluid to save on postage, plus there's some cracking deals at the moment!! Will just keep it to one side until it's needed!

To add to the above, I've read to use a low grade part synth oil for running your engine in. Something to do with the metal parts touching (due to the low grade) which helps them to wear together, removing surface imperfections and machining marks.
Once they've done this, the good oil then helps to reduce further wear beyond this and offers better protection.
(writing the above off the top of my head!)

Lol, I was just adding a bit of info for people if they search or just read through threads!
IMO it's good oil and regular servicing that keeps an engine going into the high miles. 100k is nothing really!

Very true man, Yeah 100k is decent for a 12 year old car really eh?
Most Rallye's i see with engine out the factory is usually 120kish.

Personally use Fully Synthetic on recommendation from Oilman too.
Although, I believe if you're not using the engine hard semi-synthetic is fine.
