bit of a chavy question, whats the best way to get it down so far its been cammed, cda air box, 4-2-1 mani, decat, interior slowly gettin stripped
(its a furio and it hasnt been mapped yet since the cam has gone in)
iam lookin to get the fly wheel lightened and balanced, vtr inlet, smaller pulleys from crank to altenator
(once the money comes back, fingers crossed)
dont really wanna change to a 1.1 box

Continue to strip the interior is the best option tbh
And sticky tyres and a shorter ratio gearbox.
EDIT: Beaten to it :D

buy a vts, that will get it down :P I wouldn't expect many of those mods will make much of a noticeable difference on the 1.4 engine

s1 box is the closest ratio isnt it? =
Nope, it uses the same ratios as all the other sports gearboxes.
It has a different final drive. Close ratio boxes are about gear spacing not final drive :homme:

I'd only bother stripping it out if your gonna do properly, i stripped out everything from mine and put it all in a ton sand bag and reckon it only weighed 50kgs MAX. It does make a difference but you have to be commited to getting rid of as much weight as possible, so for example after stripping it you should get fibreglass bonnet, light weight seats, polycarb windows etc.

smaller wheels an option ?
Cole
11th February 2010, 21:13
like alot of people have said get rid of some weight, i tryed it with my gti me and my mate had a run beside each other eaven, then i totaly commited to strip the car everything went, and done it again you could see a little difference in the car pulling away and having the edge, but do it properly no carpets, rooflining, or door cards, full track spec!!!!! haha

Steelies or light weight alloys would help alot, getting rid of sprung weight has a more of an effect than the equilvent amount of un-sprung weight.
