right i have a 98 mk1 vtr..
it doesnt have the usual black top engine.
mines is silver..
doesnt look like my mates mk2 one though
i still have a 1 plug ecu...
any idea's???

mk1s did two, black top 90bhp and silvertop 90bhp so yours will be that one and not later mk2 sivertop

Black and silver top.. All single plugged 8vs are 90bhp except the Ralle ( 103 ) ;)

mk1 black and silver top = 90bhp
mk2 silver top = 98bhp
to be honest it makes naff all difference... my friend had a 97 silver top 90bhp and it minced my other buds 53 98bhp silver top

You can still get a mk2 90bhp, 2001+ is 98bhp.

Basically, if your ECU has 1 plug its 90bhp, 3 plugs its 98bhp

I have a imported VTR (1.4 over here) and that has a 3plug ECU...
What BHP am i running?
